Before After Font Review

As a handmade seller who spends hours designing labels, cards, and packaging for my small shop, I’m always on the lookout for fonts that bring both charm and clarity to my work. Before After is one of those rare script handwritten fonts that feels like it was made just for makers like me. Its magical and charming personality adds a touch of elegance without sacrificing readability, making it perfect for everything from candle labels to wedding invitations.

Before After for Candle Labels and Handmade Packaging

One of the first things I tested Before After on was a candle label. The font’s flowing curves and delicate swashes gave the label a soft, artisanal feel that matched the product perfectly. I used it for the brand name and scent description, and it looked just right—neither too fancy nor too casual. The PUA encoding meant I could easily access all the glyphs and swashes without any extra steps, which saved me time when tweaking the design.

I also tried it on a set of gift tags for seasonal candles. The font worked well for short phrases like “Winter Bliss” or “Summer Breeze,” adding a personal touch that felt authentic. Even when scaled down for small stickers, the details remained clear, which is a big plus for anyone using cutting machines or printing on tight spaces.

Before After for Greeting Cards and Wedding Stationery

When I designed a set of birthday greeting cards, Before After brought a warm, handwritten vibe that made the cards feel more personal. I paired it with a clean sans serif font for the body text, which created a nice contrast while keeping the overall design cohesive. The font’s versatility allowed me to use it for both the main message and decorative accents, making it a go-to choice for card design.

For a recent wedding invitation project, I used Before After for the couple’s names and the event title. The font’s charm complemented the rustic theme of the wedding, and the swashes added a subtle elegance. It worked well in both digital and printed formats, which is essential for any designer who needs to deliver high-quality results.

Before After for Digital Printables and Printable Wall Art

As someone who creates printable wall art, I often look for fonts that can stand out on a page without being overwhelming. Before After fit the bill perfectly. I used it for a set of farmhouse-style signs, and the font’s character really shone through. The swashes and ligatures added a handcrafted feel that made the designs feel more unique and special.

I also tested it on a downloadable planner page template. The font worked well for headings and decorative elements, but I found it best suited for short phrases rather than long paragraphs. For longer text, I switched to a simpler script font to maintain readability. Still, the way Before After looks on a printable makes it a strong choice for any creative who wants to add a touch of magic to their designs.

Before After for Boutique Tags and Product Packaging

When I was redesigning my product tags, I wanted something that felt elegant yet approachable. Before After provided just that. I used it for the product name and a short description, and the font’s flow made the tags look more inviting. The PUA encoding ensured I had full control over the glyphs, which was helpful when customizing the design for different products.

On a tote bag design, Before After added a playful yet refined look. I used it for a quote that read “Create Beautiful Things.” The font’s style made the message feel more personal and heartfelt, which is exactly what I wanted for a shop item that’s meant to inspire.

Before After for Seasonal Crafts and Holiday Tags

During the holiday season, I created a set of printable tags for gift wrapping. Before After worked beautifully for phrases like “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Holidays.” The font’s charm made the tags feel more festive and thoughtful, which is exactly what I needed for a handmade gift.

I also used it on a set of handmade greeting cards for a seasonal sale. The font’s style added a warm, personal touch that customers loved. Whether it was for a simple thank-you note or a more elaborate holiday card, Before After consistently delivered a polished and creative look.
